プリント「１」「２」の、主な疑問文に対する、返事の仕方を練習しよう。 英語は返事がむずかしい。「返事には人称代名詞を使う」のがひとつのポイントだ。

（例）（　　）内が返事になるように書く。あっさりした返事（簡略型）と、きちんとした返事の両方ができるように。

What	do you have in your hand?　（一冊の英語の本だよ）
（簡略型）	An English book.
（きちんと型）	I have an English book　in my hand.

（練習）（　　）内が返事になるように書く。あっさりした返事（簡略型）を書いてから、きちんとした返事を書こう。

When	did you come home?　（５時だよ）
（簡略型）	At 5.
（きちんと型）	I came home at 5.

Where	do you play tennis?　（公園だよ　　in が必要）
（簡略型）	In the park.
（きちんと型）	I play it in the park.　　…tennisはitにする。
（きちんと型２）	We play it in the park.　　…「君たちは」→「私たちは」の関係ともとれる。

Where	is Tom playing tennis?　（公園だよ）
（簡略型）	In the park.
（きちんと型）	He is playing it in the park.

What	is Emily doing in the park?　（友達としゃべってるよ）
（簡略型）	Speaking with friends.　　またはTalking with friends.
（きちんと型）	She is speaking with friends there.　　…in the park は、there（そこで、の意味）になる。

How	do Tom and Emily go to school?　（バスでだよ）
（簡略型）	By bus.
（きちんと型）	They go there by bus.　　…there は、to school の代わり。

How many pens	does Bob have in his hand?　（３本だよ）
（簡略型）	Three.　　またはThree pens.
（きちんと型）	He has three pens　in his hand.

How many apples	did your brother eat yesterday?　（２個だよ）
（簡略型）	Two.　　またはTwo apples.
（きちんと型）	He ate two apples yesterday.　　…ate は、eat の過去形
