シンガポ−ルと1038Mの橋で結ばれているジョホ−ル・バル覇、人口14万人の州都
古い宮殿や回教寺院などがある、
近代的な高層ビルも目立つ.

Johor Bahru

is the state capital of the State of Johor and the second largest city in Malaysia. She has an
estimated population of a million in 1996 and is projected to have an estimated population of about 1.4 million in 10 years and 3.8 million in 30 years time.

Johor Bahru, with it's excellent geographical position, favorable economic climate and stable government, is
fast developing into a regional centre for tourism, high-tech manufacturing, chemical production, retail and
trading industry.

ジョホ−ル・バルからクワラルンプ−ルへツズク高速道路



クワラルンプ−ルへツズク高速道路は、よく整備されており
時速120KMで、3-4時間でつくとのことだった.
途中、サ−ビスエリア、ガソリンスタンドも整備され、レンタカ−もシンガポ−ルマレ−シアどちらでもレンタルでき、1万円ほどの乗り捨て料金で国境乗り越えも可能である.
もちろん、マレ−シアで借りるほうが安い!!

Johor Bahru History

was founded in the late 1850's by the father of Sultan Abu Bakar, one of the most best-remembered of all Malay Sultans (kings/rulers). The town was first called Tanjung Puteri and it was a Malay fishing village. Sultan Abu Bakar changed the name to Johor Bahru when he proclaimed it the capital of his kingdom in 1866, following the act of moving the seat of the government from the old capital at Teluk Belanga (now Johor Lama) on Sungai Johor (Johor River).

道はよく整備されているのだが、空港までの道25Km・・・・・
とにかく、車が多い・・・・・・・・
特に、反対車線はシンガポ−ルへの通勤であろうか・・・・
渋滞していた.
時速80Kmで飛ばしていた.

Highway

Currently, there are a few new expressways under planning to form a better road network within the corridor. Among them are the proposed Johor Bahru Outer-Ring Road, which will run from the East-coast to the West-coast of the corridor, Johor South-Eastern Foreshore Expressway, Pasir Gudang Highway extension,
Tanjung Pelepas Seaport Expressway Gemas-Pasir Gudang Expressway and the Johor Bahru Outer-Ring Road
II. The expressways/highways that are being constructed or upgraded are the Johor Bahru Parkway, Second
Cross-Link to Singapore, NSE to Second Cross-link extension, Tebrau Highway, Skudai Highway and the Johor
Bahru Inner-Ring Road. There are now even plans to turn Tebrau Highway and Skudai Highway, both heavily trafficked arterial roads leading into the Central Business District into elevated highways.

もちろん、無料である
経済恐慌が叫ばれている国と、有料の高速道路しかない
日本とでは、どちらが裕福?

Johor Bahru Economic

The Johor Bahru Central District is the centre of commercial activities in Johor Bahru.  Following the
announcement of the Johor Bahru Central District Development Masterplan, the area classified as the city
centre is expanded from 200 acres to about 1000 acres.  The plan also officially name the city centre area as Daerah Sentral Johor Bahru (DSJB) or Johor Bahru Central District, instead of the usually used Central Business District (CBD).

8・12・97、午前8時頃

シンガポ−ルから1時間45分で、ヤット、ジョホ−ル・バルの空港へ到着する.
建物は立替え中で、すでに完成している右半分で、クワラルンプ−ル行きの待合所が、あった.
タクシ−もかなりたむろしている様子・・・・・・

The corridor is currently served by two airports, namely theSultan Ismail International Airport
(Senai Airport )
in Johor Bahru and the Changi International Airport in Singapore. The Sultan Ismail International Airport, which is located in the suburban area of Senai, is currently being expanded and upgrade to become the regional airport for southern peninsular Malaysia and the logistic and air-cargo centre for the proposed Teknopolis region

この2階が搭乗待合室、乗るときはまた1階まで降りて
このようなのり方をする.
30分おきぐらいに飛行機が離発着していた.

そういえば、腹が空いた・・・・・
まだ、朝食を食べていないことに気がついた.
しかし・・・・・・・・・・・
レストランが見当たらない・・・・・・
