The Nitobe Memorial Garden was opened in 1960 and dedicated to the
memory of Dr. Inazo Nitobe, a Japanese educator, scholar, publicist, and
later
in life an international diplomat whose personal goal was "to become
a bridge across the Pacific".
UBC客員教授で、国際平和のために活動した新渡戸稲造博士がバンク−バ−で、没するが、これを祈念して、本格的な日本庭園が造られている．”願はくは
