INT. IN THE ELEVATOR NIGHT
Takeru and Yoko are surrounded by Bobby, Sam and Jay. Takeru looks up at Bobby with fear. Bobby finds Takeru looking at him and looks back at Takeru. Takeru averts his eyes from Bobby and looks at Yoko. Yoko is frightened. Takeru looks up at Bobby again. Bobby has already looked at Takeru.

BOBBY
What the hell are you looking at?

Bobby threatens Takeru with low voice.

TAKERU
Nothing...

Takeru shows awkward smile to Bobby and looks at Yoko. Yoko smiles at Takeru awkwardly. Bobby, Sam and Jay look down at Takeru and Yoko dubiously.

INT. 7TH FLOOR ELEVATOR HALL NIGHT
The door of the elevator opens and Takeru rushes out of the elevator with Yoko and run away. Bobby and his men follows Takeru and Yoko's move with their eyes.

SAM
What the hell are they?

BOBBY
I don't know.

The door of the elevator closes and the elevator goes up with Bobby and his men.

INT. 7TH FLOOR NIGHT
Takeru runs toward Rob's room with Yoko. Yoko pulled by Takeru turns around.

YOKO
(Japanese)
Wow, it's a real power.

Takeru gives no reaction and hurries up to Rob's room.

INT. ROB'S ROOM NIGHT
The tables decorated with some junk foods are set up in the living room. A lot of young men and women become high and talk and laugh a lot. The room is filled with smoke. The entrance door opens and Takeru and Yoko comes into the living room. Yoko is choked by the smoke.

YOKO
(Japanese)
...terrible smoke

Takeru looks around. Every people smoke thin cigarettes.

TAKERU
(Japanese)
This is a marihuana party...

Jeff, Chan, Yuen and Li looks around the party in a corner of the living room.

CHAN
(Chinese)
It's a prosperous condition.

YUEN
(Chinese)
There are lots of suckers here.

Jeff stares at the customers of the party without words.

A JUNKY WOMAN
Happy smoke!

An unknown woman comes to Takeru and gives a marihuana to him.

TAKERU
Oh, no thank you.

Takeru tries to get it back to her.

A JUNKY WOMAN
It's a present for you!

The woman doesn't take the marihuana and leaves. Takeru stands doing nothing with the marihuana.

YOKO
(Japanese)
Maybe I had better try some...

Yoko looks at the marihuana samples on the table besides Takeru. Takeru becomes being scared and tries to go out of the room.

CHRISTINE
(V.O.)
Takeru!

Takeru is surprised at the voice and turns around. Christine stands a little far behind Takeru with an attractive dress.

CHRISTINE
So, you came.

TAKERU
Yeah. I was willing to.

Takeru forces his face smile. Christine finds Takeru's surprise at this party.

CHRISTINE
Sorry, you must be surprised. Me ether. I didn't know that this is that kind party.

TAKERU
You didn't know about the marihuana party?

CHRISTINE
No. I had not hard of it. I’m so sorry.

TAKERU
No, no. It's OK. I thought you did it, too.

CHRISTINE
How do you think?

Christine smiles attractively.

TAKERU
What? Um...

Takeru is confused.

CHRISTINE
I'll introduce you to my friends. Follow me.

TAKERU
Oh, yes.

Takeru is taken his hand by Christine and goes to the interior bedroom with her. Jeff follows them by his eyes.

INT. BEDROOM NIGHT
Rob and two fellows sit down on the bed and other three guys sit down on the floor. They are smoking marihuana. There are garbage of junk foods and cans of beer around the dark bed room. Takeru and Christine opens the half opened door and come in.

ROB
Wow, here the hero comes!

Rob becomes high and the voice is extremely high. The other guys look at Takeru and Christine all together, raise the queers and clap their hands. Christine frowns at them.

CHRISTINE
Rob. Let me introduce you to Takeru. He is from...

ROB
I know. We met before, huh?

Rob talks to Takeru.

TAKERU
Yes...

CHRISTINE
Really? When?

TAKERU
In the morning.

ROB
He wanted you to check his term paper or something but you were not in your room. So, I took your place. Then, how's your paper going? Better or worse?

Rob laughs at Takeru.

TAKERU
Well, so so.

Takeru is a little angry. Christine finds it. Rob talks to the next guy something.

CHRISTINE
Hey, Rob. Do you say something impolite for him?

Rob and the next guy start laughing.

ROB
But it was really funny, Christine. Lots of mistakes. What was it? Oh, yeah. He wrote "My clam"” instead of "My claim."”

All people except Takeru and Christine make big laugh. Takeru bears.

CHRISTINE
Rob! That's not fair! He is not a native. How about you? Can you write a perfect paper in French?

Christine is really angry. Rob stops laughing and becomes serious.

ROB
Here is the United States of America. Why do I have to write something in French? Why do you come to this country even if you can't speak English!?

Awkward silence and nervousness rule the room. Takeru starts talking.

TAKERU
Um... I have to say about my paper. It is still on the way and I have to go back to my room and work on it. So...

CHRISTINE
Takeru.

ROB
Go home, pal!

Christine glares at Rob.

TAKERU
Well, see you guys.

Takeru shows awkward smile and waves his hand and goes out of the room. Christine tries to follow him and stops, and glares at Rob again.

ROB
What? He doesn't mind. He smiled, right?

Rob seeks agree to the other guys but they evade. Christine is embarrassed and looks at the door. closes.
