Information

Fukuyama Kaiun's Ferry Yonakuni (498gt, 1988) sailed the last voyage on July 11, 2014 and was sold to Indonesia. The new 'Ferry Yonakuni' (753gt、2014), which was built at Kumamoto Dock, entered service on the Yonagunijima-Ishigakijima route on July 18, 2014.

Taketomi Town is operating a ferry on the Kuro shima-Iriomote jima (Ohara) route from October 1, 2014 to March 2015, as a pilot program. Yaeyama Kanko Ferry operates the program on consignment.

Miyako Ferry and Hayate (Hayate Kaiun), which operate the Irabujima-Miyakojima route, will cease from their ferry operation on January 31, 2015 when the Irabu Ohashi bridge will open.

On September 15, 2015, the Ferry Izena Shoen entered service on the Izena (Nakata)-Nakijin (Unten) route. The New Izena was replaced.

In June 2016, Anei Kanko launched the Umikaji 2 (120gt, ex-Kinin 2) on the Yaeyama routes.

On July 12, 2016, the Ferry Zamami 3 (670gt, pass: 490), a ro-pax ferry for Zamami village took the water at Miura Shipbuilding in Saiki City, Oita prefecture. She entered service on the Maha (Tomari)-Akashima-Zamamijima route on November 1, 2016.
