Spice Serve launched the 'Kaizokusen (=pirate ship) Anniversary Cruise-go' on the Tokyo Bay in October 2015.

Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel will launch a cruise ship at the port of Yokohama on March 25, 2016.

Tobu Kogyo (Chuzenjiko Kisen), which operates excursion boats on Lake Chuzenji will launch an electric-powered boat, the Nantai in August 2017.

On February 4, 2019, the Queen Ashinoko (319gt, Pass: 541m, LOA: 35m, Cost of Construction: 1.25 billion yen), which is being built for Hakone Sightseeing Cruise Co.,Ltd. (Hakone Kankosen) took the water at Japan Marine United (JMU) Hakone shipyard. She is set to enter service on April 25, 2019.
