Since I don't like rock. that much . ( I am classical music lover, especially Lied or Italian songs. ) I don't think I am right person to write TYM music. I hope someone will volunteer for the writer of this section. I recommend going to the site down here to have a more general and professional view on TYM music @@ http://www.projectj.net/about.htm TYM section ¨http://www.projectj.net/tym.htm |

It is said Motley Crue and Cheap Trick are influential bands for the Yellow Monkey sound.
Actually before they made debut Kazuya was said to be 'Vince Neil in Sizuoka'. They respect Aerosmith,
T-Rex, and Kiss. (Hessey's role model is Gene Simons, Emma's is Joe Perry. )

Kazuya's Role Models
Maybe because of his background Kazuya has Japanese taste for music. Kazuya was born in the family of strolling players. He grew up in the whirl of Japanese popular music, Enka, Kouta, Nagauta, and instruments like Syamisen (three strings Japanese guitar )and Wadaiko( Japanese drums) He said, ' The other members were raised surrounded by DO-YOGAKU(= jenuine Western music), but I have been certainly influenced by Japanese pop music of '70, when there were lots of copycats of Beatles , Stones and so on.
Here is Kazuya's role models.

A Magician at Stormy Night in Spring @
"Once I used to be a ballerina
So the dress in my heart is still fluttering
Now I am alone and no where to go
A magician at stormy night in spring
No one can see a blue casket in my heart
Please say nothing
Just hold me
Tomorrow everything will be clear
All what you have been dreaming of

Off course I still love
you
Thatfs why the frill on my breast still shaking
Someday everyone would show his own trick
On spring morning everything
will fade
No one can see blue casket in my heart So I would say nothing now Please forgive me Tomorrow everything will be clear All what you have been dreaming of

Mick
Ronson 1946-1993 gSpecial Thanks to Mick Ronson g are often seen in the booklet of TYMfs albums, like e The Night Snails and Plastic Boogie ( f92),f e Smile (f95). If you want to know Mick Ronson as a musician, please click http://home5.swipnet.se/~w-54404/ This site is created by a guitarist of U.K. band ,called Bombi Bitt. In the g Memorial Pageh you can find some photos of TYM in the Mick es Memorial concert in August f97. The report of TYMfS performance at the concert is also accessible. K wrote in his book (K.Yfs Sentimental Diary) : g Itfs Mick Ronson that me ,as a vocalist and musician, exists here today. I even fell in love with his gloomy, sorrowful and tender song and guitar. g g Our next album(= Jaguar Hard Pain) will be TYM version ofg Ziggy Stardusth. Mickfs sister, Maggie and TYM enjoy friendship, TYM organizes Mickfs memorial concert in Japan each year. In f97 they had a tour in London and performed Mickfs numbers in his hometown Hull. In the live video of eRed Tapef you can see what is the memorial concert in Hull like. Maggie gave K Mickfs shirt, which is white and Mick worn at his very last stage , and K said he would put this on only very special occasion . K concluded the essay, g How I wish to have a little sister.h Morio Agata 1948-Jaguar is from Agatafs song g Jaguar of Band –neonh. Mr,Agata is described as a radical romanticist. The music he creates is retrospective and full of estheticism. His style is always changing from tango to soul, from enka to techno-pops. He is popular among professional musician and critics. Agatafs influence can be seen following Kfs songs : Tears of Chameleon, Pearlight Revolution, 4,ooo Tear Drops, Silk-scarf and Madam with Hat, Bara Shoufu Rena, Harukana Sekai. But two artists are different in the distance between the listeners and themselves. Mr. Agata remains aloof enjoying proud loneliness whereas K has strong will to share compassion with listeners. Agata uses classical words in his lyrics, and it may be difficult to appreciate for non-Japanese and young Japanese. I translated one of his song. Heessey cried at this song when Kazu let it listen while they were on tour in snowy country in f92. In those days TYM was not so big and they couldnft afford air ticket , had to use train or ferry ,sometimes even drive by themselves carrying instruments and apparatus. Akihiro Miwa 1935-
A
great chanson singer and actor. He
was born in Nagasaki and survived atomic bomb attack.
The respect to Mr.Miwa opened the door for K to some
theatrical songs and also the literature of Yukio Mishima and Shuji
Terayama. His autobiography is Kfs desk-side book, from which K got a
lot of motives. These are;
almost every song in the album e Experience Movief and eJaguar
Hard Painf, e Mary ni Kuchizuke,Bon Jour Japon, Psychedelic Blue,
Arasoi no Machi, Eden no Yoru ni, gIh e in the album eSmilef.
K learns a lot from Mr.Miwafs art of performance on stage , how
to mesmerize the audience, how to read the audiencefs mind.
I was very proud to find following sentence in one of Mr.Miwafs
book:h In rock and roll music I can only recommend Beatles, Deo Dahd
and ballads of Kazuya Yoshii.h
