９mm:菅原

　僕ら最初にバンド組んで横浜でライブしてて、東京の方でも渋谷とか下北とかでもやろうよという話になって、どこでやりたいってなって、LaMama でしょう、だってイエモンでしょうって。

　At the begining of our band Yokohama was our home-ground. Then we came to think of live in Tokyo, like Shibuya or Shimokitazawa.  We all thought the live house must be La Mama, イエモン’s birth place.

   To the stage of LaMama, we had to descend steps , adn we saw faded posters of 　イエローモンキー　on the wall and ceiling of these steps. We got really moved, "Wow, finally" 

　直属の後輩を勝手に名乗ろうって。

　We deceided to call ourselves ( TYM's) dierct junior.

　インディーズで出ていたBunched Birth,この音源をいただきまして、もう、一発で、ぼくにとってはすべてがフィットするというか、ものすごく自分好みのロックだったんで、これはすごいじゃないかということになって。是非、ライブを見せてさいということになった。（１９９０年４月３０日　大宮）　そのライブは今はもうないんですけど大宮にFreaksというライブハウスがあって。ケバイですよ、当時の化粧なんて、ケバイけども、とにかく出てきてメチャメチャかっこいいわけで。　

　ボーカルの吉井君がおかまのふりをするんですよね。しゃべり言葉を。それが僕の中では既ににメジャーデビュウした後だったので、このままこのバンドはポピュラーなバンドにならないかのもれないなと、一瞬ちょっと悩んだ時期があってですね、自分の中で頭がぐるぐる廻っちゃいましたね。

　When I first listened to the tape of Bunched Birth from indies, instantly I knew it was my type, it perfectly matyches my rock tastes.  It was so impressive that I went to see their live.  There used to be A live house, Freaks, in Omiya.  They we awfully loud, make-up wise and everything.  Though loud , when they showed up they looked outrageuously cool.

   Yoshii, vocalist, pretended to be a gay.he talked that way.  They had already made debut, so I was worried for  if they could become a pupular band.  I was upset for a while.

　深夜番組でＰＶで流れてたんですよね、Love Comunicationだったんですけど。当時、僕高校生とかで。ロックに目覚めていろいろ聞くようのなったんですけど、。すごくその、吉井さんの動き、結構セクシーなクネクネする動きが凄い印象的だったんですよ。ソっからすね、聞き始めたの。

　I just saw theit PV on midnight TV show. It was PV of love Comunication.  Then I was a highschool boy and came to listen to rock. Yoshii-san's snake-like body action was very imressive.  That was the very beginning of my TYM follower hisroty.

　ヒーセが選ぶ忘れられないライブ：　

　　メカラウロコライブっていうのがあって、それを最近、見直した時に、これすごくいいライブだなって。（１９９８．１２．２８武道館）武道館ていうのはロックの思い入れみたいのが。自分にとっていまだに聖地でもあるし、会場で言ったらもっと大きい所もいっぱいあるんですが、やっぱり武道館でロックをやるってことが自分の中ですごく大きいので。　中学生の頃、”なんでロックコンサートで国旗がぶらさがってんだよ！”って、ちょっと、そういう気持ちもあったんですけど。　イエローモンキーでエイジアンＢＯＹをやることで、最高の演出というか。　自分で演奏しながら国旗を見るという、へんなナショナリズムではないんでそけど、思い出深いし、曲ともあいまってバンド名ともあいまって、すごく印象的ですね。

　　Recently I watched MEKARA UROKO (1998.12.28) DVD. I thought it was a very good one.  Budokan is a very special place for rock musiciona, a kind of sacred place.  Of course there are lmany larger halls, but play at Budhokan means much important for me.  When I was a junior high I used to think, " why should they play under the national flag?"  As a member of TYM and played 悲しきAsian Boy,  it was very effective, the supreme stage effect. Playing the bass, I looked up to see the national flag.  It was not from some sort of nationalism, but taking the song and our band name into consideration, it was indeed impressive.

　来日アーティストのメッカは武道館っていうのがあったんで、CheapTrckにしてもＤｅｅｐ　Ｐｕｒｐｌｅにしても、あそこのライブ盤というのは彼らにとってもバイブルだったし、その武道館でというのは、凄いこだわりがあったと思うし。正直、その後、イエローモンキーはドームでやってるじゃないですか、でも武道館やるまでは、ヒーセなんか”ドームやるより武道館で一生終わりたい”みたいなことを、言ってたから。　”ドームはロックじゃない”それぐらいの勢いは、やったこともないのにね、ありましたよ。

  Budokan is Mecca for foreign rock bands, like Cheap Trick or Deep purple.  The live album of them were TYM member's Bible.　To play at Budokan meant something for TYM.  Actually TYM played at Tokyo Dome, but before their first live Budokan Hessey said he would rather end at Budokan than at Tokyo Dome.  All of them must have thought that Dome was not for rock, even though they had never played there.

レミオロメン藤巻

　高校の時にコンビニでバイトしてたんですよね。その時にＪＡＭがかかってたんですよ。そのＪＡM　聞いた時に、一発ＫＯって感じで。わあ、なんだこの曲は。ロックの音はかっこいいのにそのメッセージ性がが世の不条理とかいろんなものをピンポイントで言って。　問題意識がガーンて心の中に叩き込まれたような経験をして、その曲でもう本当大好きになりました。

　When I as a high school boy, I worked a part-time job at a convenient store.  Among BGM s I heard JAM.  I was knocked out by the fitst blow.  "Wow." The rock sound was cool and the message sent by the lyrics was about all the absurdity in the world with pinpoy accuracy.  This song thurst many agendas of  life into my head.  Because of this shock  experience, I love this song.

DAIGO

   当時、あのメッセージ性ですごく衝撃を受けたというか、あの曲が持っているパワーっていうか、そういうものを滅茶感じて、やっぱＪＡＭほ俺の中では外せない一曲かなって。

　That song has strong power of sendinｇ messagea, its impact was huge at that time.  I felt its original power.  I can't tell anything about  TYM without JAM.

　　When they apperaed in Pop Jam ( TV program), my dad said: My dad ,who always complains that evey song I listen to is imcomprehensive,said :This song is good.  This song certinly sends a message to everyone evenly and moves evey listnener.  This is why JAM attracts many people My dad who only listens to Enka(演歌：Japanese popular music) did say ;"I l" I like this song."

　アニーが選ぶ忘れられないライブ

　”日本武道館のライブで　Four Season. ”よーし、、今、最高潮、バンドが一番今いい時だ”って。加速度で言うと、上り詰める時の「こっから行くぞっ」て言う時の、自分のテンションともリンクしていた時期でもあって、９５，９６年、“ああ、気持ちいい”っていう感じで最初から最後まで出来たんで。あれは自分の中では伝説的に素晴らしいライブになってますね。”　

　　Four Season at Budokan.  I felt : Now we are at the climax.  The best time of the band.  To compare the acceleration, we reached the summit and then go.  My tention was also as the same.  In 95 and 96 the live stages started and finished with satisfaction: How I feel nice!"　That live show has become a legend for me.

　メカラウロコ７っていうのは楽しそうだったでしょ。で、これがイエローモンキーだって核の部分だけで構成してたから。あそこはのライブはすごく大きいですよね。

　MekaraUroko7 . Every one looked cheerful.  That

 show was consisted of the core part of the Yellow Monkey.  That live meant a big deal. 

　フジロックの映像をみんなで見た時に、壮絶な現場だなと思って。現場にいれたら良かったなぐらいの感じは思いましたね。

　We saw live image of Fuji-Rok, we all knew it was a fierce battle field.  We wish we were there.

　バンドとして、４人が立って、演奏して、あの瞬間にもうすべてを、こう、空気を変てしまうような、バンドとしてのパワーというか、そういうものがやっぱすごかったなと思って。俺はそこにもうひきこまれた。だから俺はもう本当に、言葉なんかいらないっていうか。本当にもうＫＯされた。

　When all four stood on stage and started playing, at that moment the atomosphese was excahged.  The power of band itself did so.  Outstanding power, which seized my soul.  No word was needed, they knocked me out.

　他の人達じゃ出来ないことをやったのは間違いないでしょ。オリジナリティ、よく　OriginaltyOtiginalty,ッ言うけど、そうそう、ないじゃないですか。イエローモンキーの場合は、すごく洋楽を意識するところと、日本の昔からのちょっと昭和のサブカルな感じ、そこの両方持っているバンドてそうそうないじゃないですか。

　There is no doubt that they've done what no else can do.  We often use the word " originalty", but it's really hard to find something full of originalty actually.  TYM had both : concertning Western music and Japanese subculture in Showa-era.  The band with thses two faces are quite rare.

　　野外でやったツアーがあったんですけど、それがバンドの脂っていうんですかね、それが一番のっている時だったし、その当時で出来るロックバンドのライブとしてはすべてを網羅したって感じのとこまで達してたんで。すこでの凄い達成感がある中での、、こう,自信もありっつつ、”これからどうしたらいいんだろう”って言う折り返し地点ていうのかな、その中でやっていたライブ、人生のなかでも楽しいことも辛いことも全部つまっている、そういうライブだったし。

　　This tour was out door live. The power of band reached its zenith, we tried eveything imaginable as rock band live we'd been at that point.  We enjoyed the sense of achievement and confidence , and we at the same time wondered " what should we do after this?"  Maybe it was a point break.  At that time all joy and hardship of life came together, I guess.  

”球根”って曲、すごい、すごい曲だなって思います。毎回、聞くたびに、変な意味じゃないですよ、あれをＯＫにしたバンドが凄いというか。イエローモンキーじゃなきゃ出来ないだろうなと、誰かが違和感持ってたら絶対ぶれるし、ああいう曲って。やり切ってる感はものすごいあって、たまに聞くですけど、すごい曲だなって思いますね。

　"Bulb" is just great, each time I listen to it.  In true sense of meaning it is the capacity of the band that enabled Bulb go.  Any other band can't do it. If one of the members had had any doubtful feeling, it would have never sounded that way.  I can sense their satisfactory feeling.  I sometimes listen it, and its power moves me each time.

いろっぽさ、儚さ、狂気みたいなものから、その反対の幸福なカタルシスみたいなものが、全部、バンドの楽曲に全部あるなって思って、ぐっとくるんです。どうしても、そこが響いてしまう。”わあ、なんかすごくいい”って。

　They have eveything: seductiveness,  transience, from insanity to euphoric catharsis. Their songs have eveything.  My heart is captured by that, irresistible for me.  " How amazing!"

 やっぱ,７がかっこいいんだなと思いましたね。終わった打ち上げでも、「もう思い残すことない、最高だぁ」te言ってたみたいで。

  MEKARA UROKO7 is the coolest. After- show-party they said I repeated " I have nothing to regret. Super"

　吉井さんの衣装が金で全身、金だったんですよ。それが、これを着てライブできるのは日本で吉井さんしかいないんじゃないかなって、ものすごくかっこよくて。

　Yoshii's costume was all gold,  full body in gold.  He is the only person that can perform live show in that costume, I bet.  He was awesome.

 We never felt Dome was big.  They never let use feel the huge space but a live house.  I remeber  the show was so cool.

　今でもこう支持されてるって事が凄いてことだろうし、２０年でしたっけ。　解散してても、みんなが聞きたいものをやって来たっていのは本当に凄い事だなって思いますね。

　It's a almost miracle that many people support them since  they started 20 years ago.   They have created what people still want to listen even after thier disband

　自分が音楽好きになって、ギターを買ってみようとか、弾いてみようとか思うきっかけになているバンドんの一つなので、イエローもキーは。　だから、四六時中、神棚にあげて拝むみたいな感謝をしてるわけじゃないんですけど、音楽聞いてて”楽しい”とか”ぐっつとくる”。「それが楽しいんだ」って思うようにしてくれたことの一つがイエモンだっていう。

　　TYM is one of those bands that made my music life start.  Owing to them I came to like music , bought a guitar and played it.  I don't uphold  and worsship them like God everyday.  They made me realize" music is fun" and " Music moves me"  IEMON is one of the chances that taught me " IIt's fun That's why I play music"

 今でもこれからも永遠にリスペクトし続けるんですけど、永遠にファンです。

　I'll keep on respecting him for ever.  I'm their eternal fan.
