一昨日、Vikから苦労して山越えをし、ここでE16号線高速道路に乗つたときは、ホツトした．
ベルゲンのホテルに到着が遅れる電話をしたのもここである．
コペンハ−ゲンのJCBプラザが、道路情報を提供してくれたが(積雪でとおれないR−２４３号線を通行可能と連絡してきたこと）、そのおかげで、フェリ−でフィヨルドを横断することができたし、また、暖かい地元の人々の好意を得ることができたり、非常に得難い経験を偶然させてもらえたことに感謝している．
昨晩、ストランドホテルのフロントに、一昨日ベルゲンへきた道のりを説明し、オスロへかえるにはどのコ−スを通つたらいいか尋ねると、一昨日ベルゲンへきた道のりは、今の時期は全く通れないという．
私がいつもいつている道程を教えてあげるからといつて、親切にも、紙に地図を書きながら帰りの道のりを説明してくれた．
今日はその道のりに基いて車を走らせている．
The way which had come to Bergen the day before yesterday
was explained in the reception desk of STRAND HOTEL last night.
We asked him which course to return to Oslo
He says that he cannot pass the time of now to the road which came to Bergen
yesterday at all.
He shows the road which he is always passing to us.
He showed a return road kindly writing the map on paper.
We run on the road by car today.
From Voss the journey begins by coach, through
fertile valleys with modern and traditional
dairy and sheep farms nestled below the mountains.
A short stop at Stalheim Hotel, summer only,
offers spectacular views over the Næroy Valley(N誡yfjord ), before negotiating the hairpin bends of
the descent to Gudvangen. |

A good half days trip by car, Oppheim and Stalheim lie along route E16
towards Gudvangen.Tvindefossen, a 150m high waterfall near Tvinde camping
is a popular place to stop and take photographs.

is situated in the mountains of Western Norway,
only 35 kilometres from Voss and near one
of Norway is most famous fjords, the Sognefjord.
The Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in Norway
- a gigantic chasm which penetrates 180 kilometers
into the country and plunges to the awesome
depth of 1300 metres.

景勝地Stalheimへの道は、Ｅ１６号線の左に登る道があつたが、あまり目立たない、気を付けていないと見落としそうである．Ｅ１６号線はすぐトンネルに入るためよほど注意しないと分からない．
かなり長いトンネルである、途中トンネルとトンネルの間、下の写真みたいなＮæｒøｙ

Stalheimには、スタルハイムホテルがあり、右に落差１００Ｍのシバレ滝、左にスタルハイム滝、このホテル庭からの眺めはＮæｒøｙ峡谷を通してＧｕｄｖａｎｇｅｎにいたる絶景で有名
Hotel is situated in the mountains of Western
Norway, only 35 kilometres from Voss and
near one of Norwayìｓ most famous
fjords, the Sognefjord. The Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in Norway
- a gigantic chasm which penetrates 180 kilometers

into the adjacent regions, and one of these
called the Næｒøｙfjord is only 12 kilometres away from the hotel.
The hotel itself is built on the edge of
a 300 meter high cliff, and from the plateau
in front of the hotel you can admire the
spectacular view of the Næｒøｙ
valley and a 937 meter high mountain called
"Jordalsnuten" or the "Sugarlump".
This view is considered to be one of the
most glorious and impressive in the world.
In walking distance from the hotel you find
some of the most beautiful water falls and
scenery in Norway. The fjord region of Norway
has attracted tourists for centuries, and Stalheim Hotel is one of the major stops on the famous
round-trip "Norway in a Nutshell".
a 1,3 km long, extremely steep road with
13 hairpin bends. It is said to be Northern
Europes steepest road with a gradient of
1:5. On each side of this road you can admire
two large water falls, Stalheimsfossen and
Sivlefossen.

and standard of our food. We have a wide
selection of cold dishes meats, fish and
salads- and can also offer a buffet of hot
courses and a large dessert table. This is
an experience both for the palate and the
eyes, and we pride ourselves in offering
one of the largest buffets in the area. Lunch
is served from 12.00-14.30.

as well as an adequate wine list. We always
try to incorporate typical Norwegian dishes
such as game and fresh salmon, in addition
to more continental dishes for our less adventurous

This tour, rated among the 10 nicest day-excursions
in the world, departs from Stalheim around
09.00 towards Voss by bus. In Voss you catch
the train to Myrdal and Flåm, the 40 minutes train ride from Myrdal to Flåm being one of the most spectacular train rides
you can think of. The tour continues
to Gudvangen
by boat, navigating the narrow waters
of
the Aurlandsfjord and the Nærøyfjord.
Around 16.30 you disembark in Gudvangen
where
coaches wait to take you back to Stalheim
through the Nærøyvalley,
with
the impressive Stalheimskleiva as the
grand

then by fjord steamer down the Aurlandsfjord
into Nærøyfjord, one of the
narrowest of the fjords. Then a bus takes
you up to Stalheim Hotel, with inspiring
views from the summit, and finally to Voss
to catch the train back to Bergen. The sensation
is one of an overdose of scenery.
