Mt. Kurama is the place where master Morihei
Ueshiba had performed the ascetic training.
We dedicate our Enbu of Aikido in spring
at the flower memorial service of Krama temple
every year.
Information of Aikido Takemusu-kai
Non-Profit Organization Aikido Takemusu-kai
was established in Kyoto in 1973 and in 2000
became certified as the first incorporated
NPO of Aikido in Japan. We, Aikido Takemusu-kai,
practice traditional aikido based on the
principles of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba's
Aiki-Ken (sword), Aiki-Jo (stick) and Taijutsu
(Body techniques) with the aim of mastering
Aikido where physical skill and the founder's
thought unites. Aikido doesn’t have competitive
matches, so we practice basic techniques
repeatedly. Aikido harmonizes with the spirit
of the universe and defeats the opponent
in an instant by the body movement like a
beautiful dance. Regardless of age or gender,
anyone can practice as there is no battle
by force or clash with each other in Aikido.
The founder, Ueshiba Morihei said, “Train
your mind that connects your heart and body
to harmonize with activities of the universe."
Aikido cultivates the motivation and the
spirit of harmony. The Ki of Aikido is an
inexhaustible vitality that works unconsciously,
not muscle strength with finite consciousness.
Aiki means the way of harmony of Ki. Harmonizing
the movement of the opponents leads to matching
with the movement of nature. Both we and
the opponents are living in the workings
of nature, and both are breathing and being
nurtured. We train to make ourselves harmonized
with the flow of nature, eliminate enemies,
and go our way that both we and others will
prosper.
