何さま時間が時間だけに、すでに午後の6時を回っており、大変心配した。
やがて進むように言われていた方向に大きなトンネルの口が現れてきた。
1本道のためにとにもかくにもその長大トンネルに車を突っ込むことにした。
長いの長い、をくり抜いた為にものすごい長いトンネルであった。
トンネルの内部はまだ新しく最近ん開通したトンネルであるということが分かった。地図に掲載されていないわけである。 |

とにかく観光案内所の言う通りに船乗り場の方向を聞いて、あとは勘を頼りに車を急いで走らせていった。
何さま全くフィヨルドの対岸にわたるなど想像も考えもしていなかったので、ルートについては全く不案内であった。
船乗り場に行くようにと言われてみても、どこに船乗り場があるかも全く知識がなかったし、船にたとえ乗れたとして、その後対岸からこちらの方にわたって帰えられる担保があるのかよくわからなかった。

in the Lærdal river is a popular sight in the summer months. Sjurhaugfossen
is 20 km upstream the river mouth at Lærdaløyri, and was earlier
the final barrier for salmon migration. Three fish ladders build in connection
with the hydropower development in the river has opened (at least in theory)
an additional 20 km of salmon river.

Fodnesにつくと、といつても、L?rdalから長大トンネルを抜けると、すぐMannheller行きのFodnesフェリ−乗り場があり、すでにフェリ−が待機していた．
この長いトンネルをやっと通り抜けると目の前にフェリー乗り場があった。この間全く人家を見ることができなかった。
もちろんフェリー乗り場も人家など一軒もなかった。
フェリー乗り場にはたまたまは船が到着していて、船の前に船員さんが1人おりて立っていた。
料金を徴収するカバンを首にかけていた。
言われていた船は大概このフェリーであろうと想像して、この立っていた船員さんのところに車を横付けした。
ベルゲンに行きたいんだがと切り出すとこの船員、丁寧に教えてくれた。
それによると、この船に乗って対岸にわたり、それから、陸上を北上し、また別のフェリーにそこで乗ってこちらの岸に戻って、くることによって行けるということであった。
やつと、対岸に渡るフェリ−に乗れる．
もう間もなく出発するので早く船に乗るようにという指示なので、料金を払って車を委員の中に乗り入れた。
その際に感心したのは首にかけていたカバンの中に、コンピューターが入っていて、自動的に料金徴収と精算をするシステムになっていた。
これにより会社のコンピューターに自動的に登録されるシステムのようであった。
車の切符を販売し車をフェリーに誘導するのもこの船員1人がすべて行っていた。
そういえば船に乗って空もあまり船員を見かけることはなかった。とにかく徹底的に合理化をしているのである。日本では考えも及ばないほどの合理化が進んでいることに驚かされた。

最上階もこの写真のように、スタンドコーナーがあってここで飲食物を楽しみながら、フィヨルドが見学できるように設計がされていた。
ちょうどこの時はわれわれ2人以外に誰もこのフロアには上がってきていなかった。
われわれ2人が貸し切りの専用フロアを占有したわけである。
誠に贅沢なフィヨルドクルージングとなってしまった。
われわれ2人が屋上に、展望のパノラマルームに、
フィヨルドを心ゆくまで楽しむことができた。
陸から見るのと、また違った景観が広がっていた。
素晴らしい景観を屋上で楽しんでいると、すぐに対岸に船がついてしまった。
もっともこのまま船に乗っていたいと思ったぐらいであった。

あまりジロジロとみ見られるので、照れくさいくって,
さらにもう1回下のフロアに階段を伝って降りて行ってみた。
するとここはレストランになっていて、かなり豊富な食料品が販売されていた。
今のところのフェリーにこんなに立派なレストランが,
しかも女性の店員1人おいて営業されているとは予想もしなかった。
例によって値段が高かったので見学するだけでここでものは買わなかった。 |
レストランは、かなり充実しており、品数も豊富であつた．
ただ値段が高いため、利用はしなかつた．
船の内装は、日本のフェリ−に比べて、より快適な空間を提供しており、屋上はガラス張りのフィヨルド展望室となつており、椅子に座りながらフィヨルドの景観を楽しむことができる．
船が生活の主要な足となつている国である．

船に乗るとさっそく船室を通って、船の最上階の展望ルーム上がってみた。
写真に見る通りに非常に素晴らしいフィヨルドの景観が目の前に広がってきた。
尾根すじの氷雪から、白い糸をひくように何本もの滝が流れ落ちている．
荒々しい自然の迫力に圧倒される．まさに、神々の台地である！！！！

Lædalsfjorden is one of the inner arms of Sognefjorden.

Sognefjorden was the main route fortransporting merchandises and passengers.
