ホ−コン王の館
次に代表的な観光名所のひとつであるホーコン王の館に向かうことにした。この城はベルゲン湾のとっさきに位置していた。船がベルゲン湾に入ってくる1番先にとらえられる位置に築かれていた。われわれが車でこの城門の前に到着したときには、まだこのお城は閉まっていた。時間が早かったのである。とにかく、北欧はオープンする時間が非常にゆっくりしているところである。日本では想像もできないようなことである。あいにく、天気も悪く雨がパラついていたので車の中で文が開くのを待っていた。しばらくすると、やはり別の観光客がやってきて私とおんなじ様に門の前で待機するようになっていた。このお城は非常に古風な建物で全体が石造りとなっており、いかにも中世の古城といった感じになっていた。

30分ぐらい待ったであろうか、ようやく門の扉が開き、われわれを内部に事務員が導いてくれた。中に入ってみると外側のを古臭い感じとはガラリと変わって、きれいに内装装丁がされて近代的な博物館に変わっていた。
受け付けには2人の女性が座っていた。2人とも北欧的な顔立ちのスラリーとした背丈で大柄の美人であった。
受付の女性は典型的な北欧美人、北欧を旅して会つた中ではNo1、写真で紹介できないのが残念！

中世当時の国王の居城（ホ−コン・ホ−コンソン王、１３世紀）で、このころはベルゲンが、首都であつたということのようである．
石造建築の重厚な建物で、祝宴場、儀式場など、まさにバイキングを彷彿とさせる遺跡．
ホ−コン王館
Håkon's Hall has taken its name from its first builder,
King Håkon Håkonsson, and was
erected between 1247 and 1261. In the latter
year it was in use as "The Stone Hall"
at the wedding and coronation of King Magnus
Lagabøte (the Lawmender), Håkon's
son and co-ruler. The hall was the largest
and most imposing building in the royal
residence at "Holmen" (the holm),
the political centre of the 13th-century
Norwegian kingdom. It was obviously built
for the great occasions in the history of
the monarchy and the realm, but also for
practical daily use. |
建物は石と木でできたお城であった。石造りの建設のために建物の内部は光線があまり入らないようになっていた。その分荘厳な雰囲気を醸し出していた。
内部はあまりゴシック建築みたいに、ごてごてとした飾りはなく非常にシンプルな内装になっていた。壁はすべて石づくりであった。

毎年５月下旬から６月中旬にかけて、ベルゲン国際芸術祭が開催され、クラシツク、民族音楽、バレ−、演劇など多彩な催し物が行われる．
国内外から有名ア−チストが参加する．

お昼の豪快なバイキング料理で有名、２階のレストラン”Ole Bulls"にいくとすでにたくさんのお客で、ごつたがえしていた．しばらく待たされ、席に案内された．料理は、冷たいものが主流で、品数やデザ−トは、多彩なそしてデラツクスな内容だつた．
ノルウェ−の料理の特色は、素材の持ち味を生かして、あまり手を入れないのが特色である．

そろそろお昼なったので昼食を食べることにした。ベルゲンには非常に有名なレストランOle Bull'sRestaurantがある。ノルゲホテルの2階に、日本ではバイキング料理といわれるスモーガスボード、これが非常に有名であるのでここに食べに行くことにした。このホテルはベルゲンを代表するホテルのひとつである。建物もベルゲンの中では非常に大きな建物であった。
正面玄関に言っても非常に格式のある雰囲気を持っていた。面している通りもベルゲンでは1番にぎやかなメーン通りOle Bulls plass通りに面していた。われわれがレストランのある2階に上がっていくとすでにレストランOle Bull'sRestaurantでは、たくさんの人が昼食に来ていて、しばらくまたないと食べれないということであった。仕方がないのでNorgeホテルのロビーでしばらく間、レストランが空くのを待つことにした。30分ぐらい待たされたがあろうか、やっとわれわれも昼食の席に着くことができた。われわれが席に着いたころでも、レストランの中はいっぱいであった。さすがに評判がいいレストランOle Bull'sRestaurantだけあって、バイキング方式で出ている料理は、料理の品数といい、味といい、そしてサービスといい申し分のないものであった。料金は少し高かったけども十分に満足いくを料理であった。
