Den Nationale Scene with its three stages is Norway's oldest permanent
theatre, with roots dating back to Det Norske Theater founded in 1850 by
the famous violinist Ole Bull. Today, as a publicly owned institution,
it shares the position of national theatre with Nationaltheateret and Det
NorskeTeater in Oslo.

Med sitt opphav i Det Norske Teater, som
fiolinisten Ole Bull grunnla i 1850, er Den Nationale Scene (DNS) Norges eldste faste scene. Like fra
starten har det hatt en sentral posisjon
i norsk teaterliv og som statseid fra
1995
er DNS ett av landets tre nasjonale
teatre.

ノルウェ−最大の水族館、アザラシ、海鳥、淡水魚などの飼育観察をしている.

Only minutes walk from the centre of town
and you are at one of Europe's largest collections
of saltwater sea-life. There is certainly
no other aquarium which has so many of the
North Sea or North Atlantic's species on
show. The Bergen Aquarium at Nordnes opened in 1960 and its reputation
for being one of the most visited attractions
in the city is well and truly justified.
This year (1995), the
Aquarium will open the doors of a new 1150 square meter addition which
will contain several new, exciting displays.

is the greatest composer Norway has fostered.
In retrospect one may wonder
how a country with neither national freedom
nor a long tradition of artEdvard Griegエs music could have produced a man of such genius.
Up to 1814 Norway had been totally subject
to Denmark, with Copenhagen as its cultural
centre. From 1814 to 1905 it was forced into
a union with Sweden. The first half of the
eighteenth century was a time of poverty
in Norway and it was some time before it
could assert itself among its Scandinavian
brothers. But for the highly gifted these
are perhaps the ideal conditions for providing
impetus and nurturing growth.
Edward Grieg
- Troldhaugen (Norge/Noreg)
Troldhaugen - Nina og Edvard Griegs hjemer. Edvard Grieg bodde og arbeidet
her hver sommer fra 1885 fram til sin dd i1907. I dag er Troldhaugen et
levende museum som omfatter Edvard Grieg Museum, Villaen, Komponisthytten,
Gravstedet og konsertsalen Troldsalen.
Troldhaugen is meant to give an insight into the most
important exhibits presented at the museum,
and to give you an introduction to the life
and art of Edvard Grieg
All of the guides speaks Norwegian and English. German and
French-speaking guides are always available in the summer-season. In addition
to these languages, Troldhaugen has Spanish, Dutch and Hebrew-speaking
guides.
After walking past Troldsalen You will see
the small cabine where
Grieg used to do his creative work. It had a sofa, a piano and other
necessary items. Every night before he went up to the Villa he
left a piece of paper on top of his notes, begging a possible intruder
to
leave the notes alone, since "..they are only valuable to Edvard Grieg".
